ABOUT THE PROJECT
New York based artist Dora Budor is casting for reality show NEW LAVORO. The winner will get a trip to Venice this year (Summer 2013), including accommodation during Venice Biennale, and a position as one of participants in project NEW LAVORO. The video will be premiered as part of installation in Palazzo Peckham in Venice this year, a brand new venue designed and built for the 55th Venice Biennale in the summer of 2013, situated in Castello between the Giardini and the Arsenale. NEW LAVORO is looking for 18 talented participants who are willing to experiment, and go through 7 different contests judged by well-known guest artists. Participants in the show will wear special outfits designed by NY fashion brand Eckhaus Latta. Project is dedicated to exploring relations between creative industry workers and aspirational lifestyles operating behind the curtains of current sustainable economies, and takes different approach than other art reality shows; experiments with production in extreme/realistic living conditions: minimum budgets, borderline use of materials that are ‘non-artistic’, theft or misuse of commercial resources and immaterial production, testing the boundaries of how we can produce art in time of economical crisis and material overload.
